Tribe paddler Anthony Yap has just completed yet another exploratory tour through Malaysia. This time he managed to meet up with a few more of the locals, and a jungle tribe that had been relocated due to damming. Further knowledge of the area gained by the locals not only led the expedition to newer rivers but also revealed that last years Malaysian expedition that visited one of the northern rivers is also home to a man-eating fish, The Toman. Last year the boys were seen happily and obliviously swimming around at the mouth of this river to cool down.

The mission was simple, get to the bottom of the river in time to catch our ferry and avoid being stranded for an extra 7 days... The rest were just details and thoughts of the unrun gorge and the need to stay at river level if we were to make our ride were attempted to be pushed to the background..... The all-star team consisted of Tommy Hilleke, Erik Boomer, Willie Kern, John Grace, Fred Corriell, Joe Barkley, Billy Murphy, and Tribe pro team members Anthony Yap and Pat Camblin. 9 days in june... the crowds left and our girl came back to us... bussy baby... and with warm water... a solid week of heavy rains in the large northern watershed for the ottawa river made the unlikely a reality.... this doesn't happen very often - and somehow there wasn't anyone around... those that were here lucked out and got to surf this beautiful wave at great levels for 9 full days... enjoy the photos featuring tribe team members Anthony Yap and Patrick Camblin, along with Tribe farm team rippers Ben Marr, Dave Nieuwenhuis and Joel Kowalski...

Tribe and YGP tour Vietnam
Some photos from the boys travels through Vietnam filming for the next YGP feature 'Source'... Exploratory trip from the Mekong delta in the south all the way up to the Chinese border covering ~2500kms of 3rd world roads and many miles of new rivers... Vietnam is a country of incredibly friendly people, a rich culture, beautiful landscapes and world class whitewater... Some gems were found that will no doubt be returned to by many in the future.
